October Goals

Remember in September when I set goals for myself? I suppose I should recap how I did with that!

Goal #1: Keep working out 5 times a week – I did really well with this up until this past week when life got crazy and I got sick! I’m going to go ahead and say I accomplished this goal because not being able to breathe is a valid excuse to skip the gym :)

Goal #2: Start meal planning – umm well we sort of did this. I have a list on my phone for certain weeks.  But we didn’t always stick to it. I’m considering this goal not accomplished. ugh.

Goal #3: Keep up with readings for class – yup!

Goal #4: Be less of a grandma - I went out more in this past month than I did all last semester, so I’d say I accomplished this goal! How exciting :)

OCTOBER GOALS

Goal #1: Cook something with pumpkin. Believe it or not, I’ve never cooked with pumpkin. Sad, right?! This should be a main priority :)

Goal #2: Don’t procrastinate. I have a really busy month coming up. Lots of work, lots of projects, lots of tests.. if I procrastinate, I know I’ll get even more stressed!

Goal #3: Run more than 2 miles. I was running more than 2 a day during the summer, but so far this semester I’ve gotten stuck in a 2 mile rut. I know this sounds minimal to a lot of people, but uh.. 2 is a lot for a ballerina like me :)

Goal #4: MEAL PLAN. I’m adding this to my list again because last month was a fail.  My grocery bill was under budget but that was because I was eating only what I had in the fridge (which was minimal).  Mike and I got so ridiculously busy at the end of the month that neither of us had time to go grocery shopping or cook dinner. But… eating and eating well is, ya know, kind of important.. so I need to make it more of a priority.

What are your goals for the month?? Did you accomplish your September goals?

  1. I need to run more too! AND 2 miles is a long ways for me too- Three about kills me, my lungs are weeeak and make me a pansy while running. Way to accomplish so much this past month, especially going out! It’s hard when you have a goal of studying but I hope you’re finding the right mix for you! ……..Good luck with your goals!

  2. Yay for pumpkin! Once you start, it will be hard to stop!

I should probably try to be less of a grandma too…but I like eating dinner at 5pm! Sorry, world.

  3. Some of my goals are pretty similar! I’m trying to make it out more often, too. It’s nice being a grandma, but it’s also okay to get less than eight hours of sleep one night! Last year, I decided that I want to start traveling more so I’m working towards planning a short trip this month.

  4. I didn’t do anything with pumpkin until today, so I also missed the boat in September! Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time :) And I don’t blame you for not wanting to work out while sick, it’s the worst feeling ever.

  5. Wow! Awesome job on your September goals! You had SO much to juggle!

I cannot wait to hear what you decide to cook with pumpkin! You should do something sweet and something savory (just put a can in a pot of chili…it is a FAB addition!).

    • Thanks! Somehow being so busy kept me sane :) I’d rather be running around all day than sitting my booty on the couch for hours! And pumpkin in chili sounds amazing.. I’m an idiot and can’t find canned pumpkin in my grocery store (that’s not the pie filing). I should probably look a little harder. or ask :)

  6. i agree, 2 miles is a lot !! haha i run/walk about 4 miles everyday but it’s usually mostly walking. nothings wrong with it — it’s better than nothing! and meal planning is my goal this month too. can’t wait to follow you and your goals!

  7. oooh learning to meal plan is a serious goal of mine!! i have actually found some inspirational “organization’ blogs that i’m hoping to get some tips from and get cracking on this goal and not just buying a jumble of random ingredients everytime i go shopping and having half go bad before i think of anything to make with them :( i hope we can help each other along the way!!
