Since I have a break…

Well since I have a break between work and class, what better way to avoid doing homework than to blog (if you didn’t read my last post, one of my October goals is to not procrastinate. Fail).

This weekend was too cold to do anything! I woke up on Saturday morning and it was raining and probably around 40 degrees out… so did I go to the market? Of course not.  On Saturday night I was feeling a little tired from my cold.. and it was cold and raining… so did I go out? Of course not.

un.pre.duc.tive.

On Sunday I pretty much sat on the couch all day and did homework (aka retyped my notes from powerpoint to word). But we got spoiled at Mike’s sister’s house with hot turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans and watched the movie The Rite. It was creepy, but good :)

But in much more exciting news, I made delicious cookies! And they’re so not good for you but I so don’t care. Everything in moderation :) I had m&ms lying around that I had to use up!

I got the recipe from here…I made one change… butter instead of shortening :)

Ingredients:
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup unsalted butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups m&ms

1. In a large bowl, mix sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla thoroughly.  Add flour, salt, and baking soda to creamed mixture. Blend well. Add 3/4 cups of m&ms.
2. Drop dough by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet.  Slightly push a few candies on top of each dough ball with remaining candies.
3. Bake at 350 for 9-11 minutes.

Wah lah! Delicious chewy m&m cookies!

What did you do this weekend? Do you like to indulge in delicious cookies every once in a while?

  1. The Rite looks SO scary! I do not think I could make it through the whole thing!

I believe that cookies should not be healthified–Go big or go home! If I want a cookie, I want it to be buttery and delicious!

  2. Sugar cookies with m&m’s are so good…they were always my favorite as a kid and as an adult. Love them! Especially the ones as big as your face at the mall! hahaha!

  3. I haven’t had m&m cookies in forever! I usually do my cookie indulging around Christmas time. There are always too many cookies in the house at the holidays. I get my fill for the year.
